UMA Karate Programs history flows down from Grand Master Pat Worley and his training under Jhoon Rhee. Teaching Sport Karate also know as American TaeKwonDo, UMA teaches both traditional Japanese Form and Technique as well as traditional Korean Form and Technique for a complete Martial Arts training experience!

Grand Master Pat Worley, martial arts instructor and retired top-ranked national competitor, is currently a ninth degree black belt.

Grand Master Worley, who was rated in the national top ten for fighting from 1970 through 1975, was the number one contender for the World Middle-weight title from 1974 to 1977. Grand Master Worley's other accomplishments include: Feature articles in Karate Illustrated Magazine, Professional Karate Magazine, Sport Karate Magazine, Official Karate Magazine, and Minnesota Business Journal. He is listed in the history of Martial Arts, and Who's Who in American Martial Arts. He has been recognized as a KARATE GRAND MASTER and was recently inducted into the TAE KWON DO HALL OF FAME. Master Klint Klaas, martial arts instructor and retired top-ranked national competitor, is currently a seventh degree black belt and also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Dave Camarillo.

Master Klint Klaas started his Martial Arts training in Karate at age 5. Being trained by Former PKA World Kickboxing Champion Gordon Franks and former National Kata and Kumita Champion Pat Worley , he was awarded his junior black belt at age 10. Master Klaas was ranked in the top 3 in black belt competition nationwide. Master Klaas credits his success as a professional athlete to his involvement in the martial arts. After completing his Associates Degree in Psychology, he was drafted by the Houston Astros and played in their minor league system.

In 1996 Master Klaas began his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after seeing its effectiveness in the Ultimate Fighting championship. In his pursuit for the top instruction he trained extensively with Rickson Gracie, Pedro Sauer and Dave Camarillo. Klint earned his Black Belt from Dave Camarillo in 2006 and is a proud member of the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu Team and is a Head Instructor in the Dave Camarillo system.

Because of his dedication to the technical aspects of jiu-jitsu, his role has evolved into teaching the advanced classes and working with competitors and professional fighters on their preparation for events.

His role as a training partner and corner man to many professional Mixed Martial Arts fighters continues to this day. He continues to be a reference for some of the greatest competitors in the world competing on the highest levels possible in events like The Ultimate Fighting Championship, EliteXC, WEC, and Pride FC.
